I often think how our lives would be different if my husband and I started dating in 2016 vs. 1998. I’m glad we dated then…when things seemed a little less complicated.
But please understand. I’m not old-fashioned.
I’m not old-fashioned. I totally stalked him before we ever spoke… high atop the staircase of the nightclub we first met.
I’m not old-fashioned. I swiped to the right when I was interested…and then he reached his hand to grab mine after we flirted from across the room.
I’m not old-fashioned. I changed my status after our first date…when I declared loudly to all my co-workers…”I JUST MET MY FUTURE HUSBAND!”
I’m not old-fashioned. I had a cell phone when we met…and I used ALL 90 FREE minutes every.single.month.
I’m not old fashioned. I had a camera when we went places…but it was a pain getting all 24 pictures developed after a night out together.
I’m not old-fashioned. We chatted every day…from a landline phone, albeit brief, our conversations were ALWAYS more than 140 characters.
I’m not old fashioned. He had wifi on his mind. I had husbandi on mine.
I’m not old-fashioned. We captured that amazing first dance from our wedding on video…for just the two of us to watch when we dig out a box full of VHS tapes.
I’m not old-fashioned. I love social media. I’m just happy we dated and married before it knew us.
